MindMoves is a mental health program for athletes, designed by athletes. It’s where you’ll learn how to recognize signs of mental health distress, understand the importance of speaking up, and gain confidence in seeking support when needed.

MindMoves is made through a collaboration between Movember and Opendorse and is available to over 130,000 student athletes online.

Start now and learn how to support your mental health to be the best version of you.

Why MindMoves?

If you’re an athlete, chances are you’ve been trained to win. You can sprint, catch, throw and swing like the pros. But that means sometimes it’s easy to forget you’ve also got to take care of your mind.

And it only becomes trickier when, on top of it all, you have to manage classwork, friendships and training schedules. The overwhelm can lead to increased symptoms of anxiety or depression.

That’s where MindMoves helps.

Who you will learn with

They’ve been there, they’ve done it. MindMoves’ teachers and speakers know what it’s like to perform at the highest levels. And they know how to apply that to the mental game, in ways performance-oriented athletes appreciate and understand.
Dr. Aaron Goodson

Dr. Goodson is a mental health and performance psychologist, with over a decade of training and experience in the psychosocial development of student-athletes, specifically Black athletes. He’s strong on growth and wellbeing, and has a soft spot for tennis.

Sheridan Blanford

Today an Equity, Diversity and Inclusion expert working with athletes and universities, Sheridan was previously a Power Forward basketball player, with no less than four knee surgeries during her college career. Her work with athletes centers on being seen, valued, heard, and respected.

Kendall Ellis

A 2x Olympic Sprinter (Tokyo 2020 & Paris 2024), Kendall is determined to show how student athletes can look after themselves by developing passions and interests outside of sport to create a healthier balance.

Chase Griffin

Growing up in Texas, Chase balanced his rising football career by exploring music. The UCLA quarterback continues to create music as an outlet and knows how much student athletes can bring spirit and life into their communities.

Izzy Connor

An Olympic rhythmic gymnast (Tokyo 2020), Izzy balanced her studies alongside a heavy practice and competition schedule. She deeply understands the unique set of pressures that come from excelling in sport, school, and preparing for a career.

Sam Phillips

As a men’s Gymnast, Sam is committed to supporting fellow athletes with mental health practices to relieve stress, anxiety, pressure and anger. He wishes people knew how much time rehab, weights, and cooking take up time outside of all the training sessions.

DJ Justice

As a Defensive Back at UCLA, DJ is the ultimate team player. Having been through his own challenges, he is dedicated to creating a comfortable and supportive space for all of his teammates.
